New Website Launched!!!
Hi All
Footsore
Miniatures are happy to announce the launch of our new website. The new website
now has all the old Musketeer Miniature ranges included in the store which, judging
from the emails, a lot of you are keen on being able to purchase again. The new
website can be found here
All ranges
are available from our UK factory as of from now. Our US factory will have all
ranges available by the end of January when we finish making all the production
molds. That said, the original Footsore ranges (Dark Age Irish, Late Saxons,
Skraelings and FPW), are all available direct from the US factory now.
The new
website incorporates an articles section which we will be using to add hobby
tips, news and additional ramblings for your amusement.
Sign up for
our newsletter and we will keep you updated with new releases, shows and other
news.
We are also now on Twitter @FootsoreMins

We've had lots of you asking when the full ranges of Footsore and Musketeer figures will be available again. The answer is, very very soon. The final tests are now being done on the new website which will integrate them all and this blog too. We are hoping we will be done in the next few days if all goes well so stay tuned.
Cheers

Fall In
Just back from the Fall In show at Lancaster PA, and what a great show it was. A big thanks to all of you that stopped by the booth to chat and buy stuff. Myself and Don were joined by our partner in the UK, Andrew Chesney (Ches), who flew in to help out and run the Warlord stand, as Footsore is the official show rep for Warlord in the US now. It was a great show for both companies by the time Sunday came around.
It was great meeting lots of new faces as well as some familiar ones. Here are a few pics from the show :)

Historicon 2014 Report.
The dust has settled after our first official releases at Historicon. We had a great time at the Con meet new friends and old. Thank you all who came over to look, say hi, chat and buy. We really appreciated your time and the great feedback you gave us over the 4 days. Can't wait for the next one now :)
For those that couldn't make it we had on release our Dark Age Anglo-Saxons, Irish and Skraelings. Due to a last minute molding problem we couldn't get our FPW French or the 1st Minnesota out in time, although we did have samples of both that proved a hit with a lot of people. Work is underway now to sort out the problem and get the website live in the next week or so.

Enjoying our first show together.
Our first customer, ironically named Bill being congratulated by err...Bill
Bill and Wojciech Flis, Warlord Games uber sculptor taking time out at the Fredrickburg Battlefield.
We all had a great time. A special thanks goes out to the Historicon organizers and also to Don's wife Gaelyn and the funniest man on the planet Brian Higgins for helping out on the stand. :)

Historicon Releases
With only 4 weeks to go before Historicon its probably time to put up a list for what we have planned in the way of releases.
Our initial plan was just to concentrate of FPW but business success really depends on appealing to as many different customer bases as possible. So with that in mind we decided to branch out with some other periods that would appeal to other folk who might not be into the FPW.
We decided that it would be fun to produce some ACW but rather than repeat the basic figures, we would just look initially at sculpting some specific colorful units from the first year or so of the war. We picked the 1st Minnesota because of the bright red shirts they wore at 1st Bull Run. There is some debate on headgear so we thought we'd do both :)
We've always been fans of the Dark Ages for wargaming so it was inevitable that we'd delve into that period. We're not putting them together in any particular order, more down to what Bill wants to sculpt at the time. Saxons are a must for fighting battles in Dark Age Britain. The Irish are not often tackled by manufactures so we thought we'd try them, and the Skraelings because everybody needs something weird to throw at their Vikings :)
So that's the current plan. All the figures marked with an * are going to be there on the day, with anything unmark planned but not definate. Its all down to sculpting time now as Bill has other work he's doing alongside Footsore, but if we keep feeding him coffee and Redbull, who knows?
FPW
French Infantry Officers x4*
French Command x2 Ensigns, x1 Drummer x1 Bugler*
French Infantry advancing port arms/trail
French Infantry advancing shouldered arms *
ACW
1st Minnesota Command
1st Minnesota Infantry advancing in Round Hats
1st Minnesota Infantry advancing in Covered Caps*
DARK AGES
Irish Warlord and Bannerman*
Irish Heroes x 2*
Irish Warriors x 4 (random selection from 16 variants)*
Irish Fianna w/axes x 4 (8 random variants)*
Anglo-Saxon Warlord and Bannerman*
Anglo-Saxon Heroes x 2
Anglo-Saxon Unarmoured Spearmen x 4 (random selection from 16 variants)*
Skraeling Warlord *
Skraeling Shaman
Skraeling Warriors x4 (8 random variants)*
Skraeling Archers x 4*
Pictures will follow over the next days and weeks, but here is a cheeky WIP of the Irish on the painting table ;)

First molds done
Hi all
Despite the lack of posts work has been progressing. A new mold frame has solved the problems we've been having so I finally got to mold up some kit molds as well as some finished figures. As well as FPW we have decided to expand our Initial ranges to include some Dark Ages. Details will follow once we have molded up a few more of them. Exciting times :-)

Quick update
Its been a busy month so sorry for the lack of updates. I had a few problems with the molding can that the molds go into to cook. New can on the way so assoon as its here we can actually get some castings done. I've started the Prussian command now and here is a sneak peek at the first officer. Sorry the picture's not very good
I've been reading so good books on the FPW which has been inspirational. I made the mistake of also starting to watch the series Vikings. That may have been a mistake. Oh well!:-)

More FPW French Command
Just working on the last 3 figures for the French Infantry Command, Ensign, Drummer and another officer. The Bugler needs a rifle adding and the new officer will be holding a pistol but I'll wait to cast them parts up before adding them. Next up, the Infantry :)
Kits parts
To make the whole process quicker when building Infantry and Cavalry the equipment is molded up first so it can be added to each figure, rather than make it again and again. This is a bit of whats already been done.

French Musicians
I always find them the most pointless of figures to sculpt, but people seem to want them. Its probably just me then lol!
Anyway here's the WIP :)

A blast from the past!
When I first started Musketeer Miniatures way back all those years ago, the Franco Prussian War was one of the ranges at the top of my list to do. I went so far as to do a test sculpt and came across the little green fella today so I thought I'd share him. He's not good enough to be part of the new range but it was interesting to see how my sculpting style has changed.
