Historicon 2014 Report.

The dust has settled after our first official releases at Historicon. We had a great time at the Con meet new friends and old. Thank you all who came over to look, say hi, chat and buy. We really appreciated your time and the great feedback you gave us over the 4 days. Can't wait for the next one now :)

For those that couldn't make it we had on release our Dark Age Anglo-Saxons, Irish and Skraelings. Due to a last minute molding problem we couldn't get our FPW French or the 1st Minnesota out in time, although we did have samples of both that proved a hit with a lot of people. Work is underway now to sort out the problem and get the website live in the next week or so.

Historicon Releases

With only 4 weeks to go before Historicon its probably time to put up a list for what we have planned in the way of releases.

Our initial plan was just to concentrate of FPW but business success really depends on appealing to as many different customer bases as possible. So with that in mind we decided to branch out with some other periods that would appeal to other folk who might not be into the FPW.

We decided that it would be fun to produce some ACW but rather than repeat the basic figures, we would just look initially at sculpting some specific colorful units from the first year or so of the war. We picked the 1st Minnesota because of the bright red shirts they wore at 1st Bull Run. There is some debate on headgear so we thought we'd do both :)

We've always been fans of the Dark Ages for wargaming so it was inevitable that we'd delve into that period. We're not putting them together in any particular order, more down to what Bill wants to sculpt at the time. Saxons are a must for fighting battles in Dark Age Britain. The Irish are not often tackled by manufactures so we thought we'd try them, and the Skraelings because everybody needs something weird to throw at their Vikings :)

So that's the current plan. All the figures marked with an * are going to be there on the day, with anything unmark planned but not definate. Its all down to sculpting time now as Bill has other work he's doing alongside Footsore, but if we keep feeding him coffee and Redbull, who knows?

First molds done

Hi all

Despite the lack of posts work has been progressing. A new mold frame has solved the problems we've been having so I finally got to mold up some kit molds as well as some finished figures. As well as FPW we have decided to expand our Initial ranges to include some Dark Ages. Details will follow once we have molded up a few more of them. Exciting times :-)

Quick update

Its been a busy month so sorry for the lack of updates. I had a few problems with the molding can that the molds go into to cook. New can on the way so assoon as its here we can actually get some castings done. I've started the Prussian command now and here is a sneak peek at the first officer. Sorry the picture's not very good

I've been reading so good books on the FPW which has been inspirational. I made the mistake of also starting to watch the series Vikings. That may have been a mistake. Oh well!:-)
